Medicaid Unwind Impact of Floridians
As the public health emergency declaration and pandemic comes to an end, Unwinding is the process of determining eligibility of Medicaid enrollees and if they qualify to remain enrolled. Unwinding began Mar 1, 2023. and terminations of coverage could happen as soon as Apr 30, 2023.
By end of the session participants will:
Understand why Floridians insured by Medicaid may lose coverage.
Discuss who is at risk for loss of Medicaid Coverage.
Discuss two ways CHWs assist Floridians in maintaining insurance coverage.
Explain the income requirements for health insurance coverage via the Federal Health
Insurance Marketplace.
